Phil Gordon (co-host of Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown) told me that the total number of starting hands in Hold'em is 52 X 51, or 2,652. But if we assume that say, Kh/Qc is the same as Ks/Qd, and so on, that by eliminating duplicate hands there are actually 169 starting hands available. Below is a chart I put together with all 169 hands listed in order of their rank.

And the worst hand in Hold'em is the 72 offsuit....But if you
didn't know that already, you really should stick to Crazy Eights.

To take this one step further, below is a chart I pilfered from Empire Poker's Poker School. It not only shows ranks of starting hands, but their value by position. As you can see, starting hands get stronger the closer you get to the Big Blind. Reccomended play is any hand at ,or above, your position on the table. In other words, if you're 4th to act, you would play any hand at 4th, 3rd, 2nd & 1st to act from the chart. At the very least, this info should promote quality play.

1st to Act AA KK QQ AKs JJ AQs
1st to Act AJs KQs TT AK AQ 99
2nd to Act ATs KJs 88 QJs KTs AJ
3rd to Act JTs A9s AT 77
4th to Act A8s QTs KQ 66
5th to Act A5s 9Ts A4s QJ
6th to Act K9s A7s 55 KJ
7th to Act 44 KT 33 98s
Dealer A3s QT JT A7 22
Small Blind 56s 45s 34s
Big Blind A9 A8 A7 A6 A5
